In case you missed it: Catch a glimpse of Black’s visit to campus.
Author Daniel Black visited SUNY OW to discuss his novel The Coming as part of the First-Year Experience’s (FYE) Common Reading Program during Panther Pride Homecoming Week. Dr. Black is a professor of African-American Studies at Clark Atlanta University and the author of two other novels: They Tell Me of a Home and The Sacred Place.
The Coming “tells the story of a people’s capture and sojourn from their homeland across the Middle Passage–a traumatic trip that exposed the strength and resolve of the African spirit.”
Dr. Black led a speech and book signing for first-year students in the Clark Athletic Center on October 10th. Several students were selected to eat dinner with the author.
