Good afternoon,
I am pleased to report that our campus-based efforts around the search for the next President of SUNY Old Westbury are complete. The College Council yesterday determined its list of three finalists for the position, and I have forwarded that list to SUNY.
The Presidential Search Committee did a remarkable job working through a long list of great candidates and, within the past two weeks, a group of semifinalist candidates took part in representational “campus” interviews (conducted virtually) with select members of the college community across all major constituency lines. Thanks to all those who took part in that process over the past two weeks for your time, insight and feedback.
I must again thank the members of the Presidential Search Committee for the great amount of time and the diligence they have contributed to this effort. You each have made what I believe will be an indelible mark on the future of the College. I must also commend the work of our search firm, RPA, Inc., for its efforts in recruiting our pool of outstanding candidates and the guidance its representatives provided to the committee during the search process.
Also, thanks must be extended to Lillian Colella, who served as staff liaison to the search committee, for the outstanding efforts she made to keep the committee organized and to ensure our technical and informational needs were met across these months.
As of today, we remain on track for a September appointment by the SUNY Board of Trustees.
