Not a Real Leader

Donald Trump was one of the worst presidents ever. Some people liked him and thought that he made good decisions when he actually put the country in harm and did not ever accept responsibility for his actions.

President Trump was unshockingly impeached for the second time. In this trial all fifty Democrats and seven Republicans voted that Trump was guilty. Having seven Republicans voting him out was the most bipartisan margin in favor of conviction history. One of the major points of the trial was that he incited the riot that happened at the Capitol on January sixth. Although, a majority of the Senate voted that Trump was guilty of incitement of insurrection, the final vote was 57-43 which was not enough to convict him as sixty-seven votes were needed. Although this trial will not result in him being barred from future office, history will know the truth. Trump did not care about his own people at the Capitol and completely ignored the pandemic.

The President himself had Covid-19 and still had nothing to say about how this disease is ruining the world. History will remember Trump as the first president to ever be impeached twice and the first to not attend his successor’s inauguration. He was one of the main factors that the U.S Capitol got attacked over an election he lost. The election was fair and he could not accept that. Instead, he used what power he had to cause havoc in the Capitol. Trump being President was something that should not have happened from the start. He was never a political figure and he always did more harm than good.

During his time as President, the best decision he made was to increase unemployment benefits. Outside of that, he has not done anything to help the country in any way. Senate Minority Leader, Mitch Mcconell also stated that Trump had “the largest megaphone on planet earth” with foreseeable consequences. “Congress and the American public paid the price,” he added. It was a stunning statement from a leader who has defended Senate prerogatives zealously, in which he effectively argued that Trump was guilty as charged, but the Senate could not do nothing about it.We must recognize and exercise these crimes against our nation and then we must take care of our people.

I feel that Trump was never a real leader. Trump had the money and the power to be a leader, but never had the actual qualities and characteristics of one. He was glad to call himself the President, but did not actually want to make a difference. The changes that he made did not help anybody but the rich and even though he was giving out stimulus and benefits, that was only to keep people quiet. Overall, we all know that Trump was a terrible leader and disrespectful to many people. The fact that his reign lasted as long as it did is bad, but we must learn from our mistakes. He was not meant to lead which is why he is gone now and will not be back.
