The San Gennaro Feast is a food festival that takes place in New York’s Little Italy. The festival only occurs in September for ten days. The Feast celebrates the life of San Gennaro of Naples. He was the Bishop of Bevento, Italy, in 305 AD.
Throughout the festival, there are a lot of activities such as live music, carnival rides, food/dessert stands, parades, and religious processions. The whole time, all you hear is the live entertainment. People sang live Italian songs like That’s Amore, Mambo Italiano by Dean Martin, and other famous Italian songs. The food was amazing. They had pasta, pizza, sausage, and peppers, among other Italian dishes. The best food stand was the cannoli stand and the fried Oreos. They were hot, fresh, and so delicious. It made you want more! They had carnival rides for the little kids like a ferris wheel, hot air balloons, and pirate ship.

The festival was so much fun, but it was very packed. There were so many people there, so it was very hard to walk. It was hard to be present and enjoy it because you are constantly getting pushed and getting lost. People from all cultures and religions were there to celebrate and to have a good time.
Overall, it was amazing. Everyone was there to have a good time and to enjoy themselves. The whole scenery makes you feel like you are in Italy, even more so than Little Italy typically does.
