The new season of “Dancing with the Stars” premiered Tuesday, September 26 at 8 p.m. on ABC. Season 32 kicks off with an amazing start. Everyone danced so beautifully and it was very enjoyable to watch.
The performances that were super exciting to watch were Barry Williams, who is dancing with pro Peta Murgatroyd, and Charity Lawson, who is dancing with Artem Chigvintsev.
Calling all Brady Bunch fans! Watching Barry William (a.k.a Grey Brady) dance a Foxtrot to the song, “It’s a Sunshine Day,” by the Brady Bunch was nostalgic. A Foxtrot is a smoothing dance where the couple dances all around the floor using a mixture of slow and quick steps. His dancing was so exciting to watch and his smiling expression was infectious. His performance gave the audience the thrills and chills. He is the oldest male contestant of the season and even though he is the oldest, he can move. His dancing was so smooth and elegant. During his dance, he offered his partner a sunflower and then topped the performance off with confetti. William and his partner Murgatroyd scored a 16 out of 30 of the night. Since it is only night one, scoring a 16 isn’t bad. He can dance and he has the potential to make it to the end of the season.
Watching Charity Lawson perform was so breathtaking. Lawson danced a Tango to the song “Only Girl (In the World)” by Rhianna. The tango is a close hold type of dance. It was their first dance of the season and the pair looked like they established a great connection with each other. She knew the choreography so well and she danced like she had been for a while, even though she had never stepped foot on a dance floor before. Her long sparkly dress flowed with every move. She can really dance well. The audience was standing up, cheering, and clapping for her after her performance. Lawson scored the highest score of the night with a 22 out of 30.
Even though there were many other great celebrities performing, Barry William and Charity Lawson had one of the best performances of the night. I look forward to seeing them dance and hopefully make it to the end of the competition. New episodes of “Dancing with the Stars” air on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on ABC. You can also watch it on Hulu and on Disney Plus.
