SUNY Old Westbury has once again shown high enrollment numbers for this years incoming undergraduate and graduate students. Some enrollment numbers, such as graduate numbers, increased from last year, proving that more students are coming back to Old Westbury to further their education.
With a total enrollment of 5,128 students, the school has seen an increase from last year, which showed an enrollment of 5,088. The school has welcomed 611 first year students. 764 transfer students also began school this year. The total number of undergraduates this year has risen .5% with 4,810 students as compared to last year’s 4,786.
The number of continuing undergraduate students this year is 3,435. The number of graduate students was also on the rise with a 5.2% increase from last year, welcoming 318 students to the graduate programs, where as last year had 302. The school welcomed 145 new graduate students, along with their 173 continuing graduate students.
Seeing as SUNY OW’s enrollment numbers are growing each year, it is easy to see that more students are noticing and planning to take advantage of the college’s major and minor programs and extracurricular activities.
SUNY OW offers a wide selection of clubs, sports teams, and other organizations. As Old West-
bury is also one of the most diverse SUNY schools in New York State, many students can find a club or organization in which they can express their culture.
