A Letter from the Acting Provost

Given the unprecedented circumstances we have faced together this semester, the College’s Academic Standing Policy for Spring 2020 has been modified with the following provisions which expire after the Spring 2020 semester:

  1. If a student is currently in good academic standing, letter grading outcomes in which the semester/cumulative GPA falls below 2.0 will not result in academic probation for Spring 2020 only.
  2. If a student is not currently in good academic standing, academic letter grading outcomes in which the semester/cumulative GPA falls below 2.0 will not result in academic suspension or dismissal for Spring 2020 only.
  3. Any students currently on academic probation will remain on probation unless their semester and cumulative GPA are above 2.0 for Spring 2020.
  4. Students who are currently on suspension or dismissal and have met the requirements for reinstatement for Summer 2020 and Fall 2020 should contact their academic advisors, after which their registration holds will be lifted.
  5. Any questions concerning academic status should be directed to owregistrar@oldwestbury.edu.  Any questions concerning Financial Aid impacts should be directed to financialaid@oldwestbury.edu.

Thank you.
