400 Wheatley Plaza, Greenvale, NY

The location and the environment of Bar Frites when you pull into the plaza provide a lavish feeling. Outside the restaurant is a space for outdoor dining. Once seated, the waiters will bring bread and menus to look over. My first reaction looking at what they have to offer was “wow!” They have so many dishes to consider.

Bar Frites is open every day for both lunch and dinner, and brunch on Saturday and Sunday. I visited this location on a Saturday around noon and you can imagine how hard it was to choose a dish. Looking around the restaurant there were people laughing and smiling, having friendly conversations with one another. The atmosphere is inviting and pleasant. It gives off a French vibe from the menu to the decor with unique antique mirrors on the wall and the wooden tables.

The service was exceptional and the water never ran low. The waiter was very friendly and knew the menu well. They answered All my questions and guided me in the right direction when picking what to eat.

The food was a job well done. I started with the fried calamari and avocado toast. The best part of my meal, however, was the French toast. It was one of the best I ever had. Every dish came in a timely fashion; it did not feel like a wait. Some of their classic dishes include Escargot, a Frisée, and Lardons Salad as well as a Sautéed Skate. Their dessert included their Chocolate Mousse as well as GÂTEAU FONDANT AU CHOCOLAT, which was absolutely decadent.

Throughout my experience, it was a delight. Reservations are highly recommended by either calling their phone number at (516)484-7500 or online at barfites.com or opentable.com. Not only can you reserve a table here but walk-ins are welcome, but who wants to wait? Pick up that phone and call now! They also offer take-out as well as curbside pick-up.

Whether you’re looking for a new place for date night or a birthday celebration, this restaurant is great for all occasions!
