The Edge is one of the hottest city attractions by far! It is 1,100 ft up into the beautiful skies of the city, 100 floors up. The Edge is an outdoor observation deck that will guarantee you the view of a lifetime. It’s one-of-a-kind design gives a 360-degree view that you can’t get anywhere else. It will also make you feel like you’re floating due to its glass floor and glass walls that lean over on to the city.
There are two tickets that you are able to choose from to enter The Edge. A regular admission ticket that you can purchase online allows you to choose a specific date and time to enter. A flex ticket is available for purchase as well. This ticket is for a specific date but it’s flexible with time. The admission tickets are reasonably priced for the experience you’re getting.
The Edge is located on Level 4 of The Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yards. Of course, once you reach the location of The Edge located in the mall, they check you in. You have to walk to the elevator and that’s where the experience starts. It feels as if one is waiting online to go on a roller coaster. There are bright lights and it’s designed to give some sort of light show.
The walls were certainly not plain. On the walls, The Edge made sure to give off information regarding their mission and history. A story was digitally shown of how long it took to build and create it, along with a montage of pictures appreciating those who were involved with making the dream come true.
After years of building, it opened up to the public on March 11, 2020. It has been the go-to place to overlook the fascinating skyline of New York. During the daytime, you can bask in the sun beaming down on you, and night time is amazing for overlooking the city to see the bright lights of the city below. One is able to see the other spectacular attractions such as The Empire State Building, One World Trade Center, Central Park, and even some NYC bridges.
The Edge is definitely worth visiting if you’re from New York. You will not be disappointed. You can go grab a drink and sip champagne in the air. You will be so high up in the air you will be touching clouds… literally! It’s a great destination and the aesthetic is perfect for your next Instagram post. Everyone will wonder where you are!
