What started as a discussion on the price of oil in room 1107 at SUNY Old Westbury quickly descended into madness after internet prankster Tommy Maloney, otherwise known as bigtommym, barged into a class on Tuesday.
Across Maloney’s chest was written “FREE DIDDY” and all he had on was an adult diaper. After entering the classroom on March 3 with loud music, a bottle of alcohol and a friend videotaping him, Maloney then rubbed baby oil all over himself, proceeding to spray it on the floor.
Maloney then took a drink of Ciroc Apple Vodka, a brand founded by Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is currently serving four years in federal prison on sex trafficking charges, and began dancing at the front of the classroom, screaming unintelligible words as he did so.
“It got musty,” said student Sarah Padovani, who witnessed the spectacle. “It was very gross.”
After covering the classroom floor in baby oil, Maloney began “rolling around on the ground like a seal,” Padovani said.
Once Maloney was done with his act, he gathered his belongings and prepared to leave the class, telling the teacher “It’s a freak-off . . . you know Diddy?”
This is not Maloney’s first stunt in public, nor in a school.
On his social media page, Maloney uploads videos entirely focused on going into public spaces and disrupting classrooms and bars under the guise of pranks.
The video at SUNY Old Westbury was posted with the caption, “Should we start a series of trying to get banned from every college in the (American flag emoji)?”
Andrew Curotto, a student at SUNY Old Westbury and former bartender, said he knew Maloney before this incident.
“Back then he wasn’t on Instagram yet…he would always get kicked out of bars,” Curotto said. “He would slam together two cans of beer and make a mess. He would buy a bunch of shots, pay for them and throw them into the crowd so people would get soaked with liquor.”
The day after Maloney’s stunt at SUNY Old Westbury, he wreaked havoc on another college campus.
In this latest video, Maloney enters a classroom with a safety vest and phone, telling the teacher of the class that he had gotten approval from administration to move the class from the room.
When the classroom did not move, he revealed it was a prank and gave them free pizza. This, after plugging a gambling website.
While some may find Maloney’s acts funny, Padovani said she was less than amused.
“I felt a little bit concerned because I thought: Did he escape from the hospital?” said Padovani. “Did he have a gun?”
University Police did not immediately responded to a request for comment.
